Local Research Request

We are able to search for:

Specific articles or obituaries found within our local newspaper collection. Names and dates must be supplied. We will only initiate a search if the date(s) requested are for material that is not made available for free online at the City of Peterborough Newspaper Collection at Archive.org.

There is a minimum charge of $40.00 + HST per search, whether or not the Library is able to find the requested information. We can email you the results for free, or mail you hard copies of the results for $0.50/page plus postage. Payment is required in full prior to initiating the search. Preferred method of payment is via Paypal. Staff will email an invoice.

An exact date or a range of dates within a one-week period is required to perform the search.

Yes, I am willing to pay $40.00 plus $5.20 (13% HST) per name, date, location and/or subject I am requesting to be researched, regardless of whether the Library is able to find the item(s). I understand that there is a $0.50 per page plus postage cost if I request mailed copies. Scanned copies sent by email are free of charge.
